Hera Books are delighted to announce the signing of psychological thriller writer, Ella Drummond, to their growing list. World rights were acquired directly from the author by Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera Books. The first book in the deal, My Last Lie, will be published in February 2019. Ella Drummond also writes historical fiction under the name Deborah Carr and her first book, The Poppy Field, was published by HarperCollins in 2018. Ella is an active member of the RNA and was a finalist in the RONAs Contemporary Romance of the Year 2016 category, as well as a runner up in the Good Housekeeping Novel Writing Competition 2012.
Keshini said of the deal: ‘As soon as I started reading My Last Lie, I was gripped by this atmospheric, twisty thriller. The story of Pilar and Theo, a couple escaping the tragedy in their past by moving to start a new life in rural Cornwall, builds up the tension to fever pitch and a stunning, shocking denouement. I was beyond delighted to bring Ella Drummond to Hera, and we can’t wait to launch My Last Lie in early 2019!’
Ella commented: As soon as I saw in The Bookseller that Keshini and Lindsey were launching Hera Books I knew I’d love to be published by them. I immediately submitted my debut suspense novel to Keshini and was delighted when I received “The Call” from her. Signing a two-book deal with Hera and being one of the first authors to be published by this exciting new publisher in 2019 is tremendously exciting.’
