Hera are delighted to welcome bestselling women’s fiction novelist, Victoria Walters, to the list. Victoria’s new novel, Coming Home to Glendale Hall, a warm, beautifully romantic novel set in Scotland, will be published in September 2019. Victoria’s debut novel, The Second Love of my Life, was published by Headline, while her second book – the bestselling Summer at the Kindness Café – was published by Simon and Schuster in 2018. Victoria has been chosen for the WHS Smith Fresh Talent scheme and shortlisted for an RNA award, and she has also been awarded the accolade of Amazon Rising Star.
World English language rights for two books were agreed with Hannah Ferguson at Hardman Swainson Literary Agency.
Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera Books, said of the signing: ‘I’ve been a fan of Victoria’s writing for some time, and when Coming Home to Glendale Hall came in one cold winter day I curled up and luxuriated in this beautiful novel. The Scottish setting is so beautifully described that it feels like taking a holiday in the Highlands, while the ensemble cast are so warm and likable, with a central love story that absolutely warmed my heart. This is the perfect feel good novel and we are absolutely thrilled to be the home for it!’
Victoria said of the deal: ‘I was delighted by Keshini’s excitement and enthusiasm for Glendale Hall, and knew that Hera were the perfect publisher for this book. I’m thrilled to be working with the team, and I can’t wait for readers to discover, and hopefully fall in love, with Glendale themselves!’
Hannah Ferguson, Victoria’s agent, also said: ‘I’m thrilled to see Victoria find a home at Hera Books. From the get go, Keshini has been enthusiastic about Coming Home to Glendale Hall and I’m certain that Vicky is going to thrive under Keshini’s guidance.’
