Hera sign debut crime thriller writer, Graeme Hampton for London-set police procedural series

March 28, 2019

Hera are delighted to announce to welcome debut crime novelist, Graeme Hampton, to the list. Graeme’s detective series, featuring fast-tracked D.I. Matthew Denning and C.I.D officer Molly Fisher, will begin with Know No Evil, a serial killer thriller set in East London during a summer heatwave, with the detectives investigating a murder spree that mirrors a series of historic crimes a decade earlier. The second book in the series will follow in late 2019.

Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera Books, said of the signing:

‘I was completely engrossed by Know No Evil from the opening chapter – Graeme has so accurately skewered the streets of East London and the heatwave provides a stifling, pressured backdrop for the detectives struggling to find a killer. I am thrilled that Hera will be launching the series to crime fiction fans and predict that readers will be captivated by the dynamic between the inexperienced but ambitious Molly Fisher and the measured, intelligent D.I. Matthew Denning.’

Graeme Hampton said of the deal:

‘I was absolutely thrilled when Keshini told me she liked Know No Evil. Keshini and Lindsey have an amazing track record in publishing, and it’s exciting to be signed up by a young and vibrant publisher like Hera Books. I look forward to building a strong readership over the coming years as I unleash detectives Denning and Fisher on the world.’
