Hera are thrilled to announce that they have inked a deal with debut romcom novelist, Stephie Chapman, in a two-book deal. Stephie’s first novel, a charming, romantic and hilarious novel about Cassie, whose random Facebook friending of her teenage heartthrob leads to a transatlantic love affair, will be released by Hera in autumn 2019, with the second book to follow in 2020. World rights were secured directly from the author.
Publishing Director at Hera, Keshini Naidoo said of the deal:
‘We are so delighted to be publishing Stephie’s debut novel! As soon as I started reading, I was instantly transported back to the crushes of my youth - a time of Smash Hits, no social media and watching TOTP every week to catch a glimpse of my favourite band and I asked myself, what I would do if I were to meet my teenage heartthrob … when we’re both all grown up? Stephie Chapman has taken this universal daydream and woven a gorgeous love story between Cassie, in her late twenties, living a single girl life in London and Jesse, the bassist in her favourite band when she was a teen. This novel is full of heart, humour and a completely captivating love affair that spans London and L.A., and I just can’t wait for readers to fall in love with Jesse and Cassie this autumn.’
Stephie Chapman commented:
‘I’m completely thrilled to be published by Hera. Keshini and Lindsey’s unwavering support and enthusiasm for my story fully cemented it for me that it is the right home for Cassie and Jesse and I’m so excited to be a part of the Hera family.’
