Hera acquire two novels from debut psychological thriller writer, Elena Wilkes
Hera are delighted to announce that they have signed a two-book deal with debut thriller writer, Elena Wilkes. Elena’s first book, a chilling, complex thriller about Lucy, a woman who discovers that her new husband, Paul, might be hiding some very dark secrets, will be published by Hera in late summer 2020. Elena is a former Senior Manager in H.M. Prison Service and won first prize on the Curtis Brown 'Beginning to Write Your Novel' course in 2016. World rights were acquired directly from the author.
Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera said of the deal:
‘I read Elena’s submission in one sitting, completely transfixed by this tale of obsessive love, and was left open mouthed as the dark secrets beneath this pair of newlyweds spooled out into the light, leading to an incredibly shocking ending. This is definitely a novel to be read into the wee small hours…! I’m so excited that Elena is joining the list of Hera authors and just can’t wait for readers to pick up this addictive thriller later this year.’
Elena Wilkes commented:
‘As soon as I spoke to Keshini I knew we “clicked” and couldn’t quite believe my luck when they offered me a deal. Hera have such a brilliant reputation, so I am absolutely delighted that my worlds of “the mad, the bad, and the dangerous to know” are going to get out there. I am over the moon!’
