Hera acquires two romantic comedies from debut novelist, Helga Jensen

Hera are delighted to announce that they have signed debut novelist, Helga Jensen in a two-book deal. Helga’s first novel, Temptation at Tiffany’s, is a sparkling high-concept romcom about recent divorcee, Amelia Simpson, who attempts to find the charming stranger she met in New York twenty years ago, wondering if he could be the ‘One that got away’… Helga’s first book will be published in Summer 2021, with the second book following in Spring 2022.

Helga Jensen is an award-winning British/Danish journalist and author. Her debut novel, Temptation at Tiffany’s, was a winning entry in the 2017 Montegrappa First Fiction competition at Dubai’s Emirates Literary Festival. Helga is working on her second book and a Creative Writing MA, whilst continuing to work as a freelance journalist. Having lived in the Middle East for the past 25 years, the former airline stewardess is now in the UK to complete her MA before deciding where to jet off next.

World rights were agreed directly with the author.

Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera, said of the deal:

‘Helga’s book was an absolute tonic to read. Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic and global uncertainty, this engrossing, funny book swept me away to a fairytale New York, full of possibility, with a magical love story at its heart. Amelia, our midlife romantic heroine who dares to escape her normal existence and embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, will be incredibly relatable and inspirational to many readers – I’m so excited to launch this book to the market in Summer 2021!’

Helga Jensen commented:

‘When Keshini offered me a contract, I couldn’t believe my luck. I was so thrilled that she loved Temptation at Tiffany’s. To sign a two-book contract with Hera is just a dream come true. I can’t wait for readers to meet my funny characters. I hope my forthcoming books will make readers laugh and take them on a journey where they can escape the trials and tribulations of everyday life.’
