Hera sign three books from debut historical romance author, Rosemary Goodacre
Hera are delighted to announce they have agreed a deal with historical romance author, Rosemary Goodacre. Rosemary’s debut novel, a sweeping tale of love set against the horrors of the Great War, will be published by Hera in November 2019, with her second and third books following in 2020. Rosemary is a member of the RNA and her fiction has been published in The Weekly News, Take a Break and Fiction Feast, amongst others. World rights were agreed directly with the author.
Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera, said of the deal:
‘I became a fan of Rosemary’s writing as soon as I read her initial submission. The story of shy but determined Amy Fletcher and her deep love for wealthy but progressive Edmond Derwent, even while WW1 rages all around them, tugged on my heartstrings and I fell in love with the characters immediately. Rosemary describes the human stories suffering the adversity of WW1 so deftly that the reader is easily transported to that time and place. I was thrilled when Rosemary agreed a three-book deal with Hera, and can’t wait for readers to discover this epic and emotional wartime love story for themselves this autumn.’
Rosemary Goodacre commented:
centenary of the Great War reminded us of this tragic period of history. What
must it have been like to have been suddenly swept into it? My characters, Amy
and Edmond, fall in love as war breaks out. They snatch days and weekends
together, uncertain of their future. Both will suffer and only their love can
bring them through disaster.
I’m so looking forward to working with Hera Books.’
