Hera signs debut romance novelist, Kiley Dunbar in a three-book deal
Hera are super excited to welcome romance novelist, Kiley Dunbar, to the list. Kiley’s book, One Summer’s Night, a romantic comedy set in Stratford Upon Avon, will be published in March 2019. Kiley is a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, who recently won ‘best transatlantic love story’ in the RNA’s ‘tweet a love story’ competition. One Summer’s Night was inspired by the author’s real-life experience as a tour guide in Stratford and her whirlwind ‘summer romance’, which led to a twenty-year (and counting!) marriage and two children…
World rights for three books were agreed in a direct deal with the author.
Keshini Naidoo, Publishing Director at Hera Books, said of the signing: ‘When Kiley first sent us One Summer’s Night, it was a grey and drizzly day – but reading her book instantly transported me to the beautiful sunny banks of the River Avon. I was utterly enchanted by the story of Kelsey Anderson navigating affairs of the heart while trying to follow her one true path. Full of charm, wit and heart-swelling romance, I can’t wait for readers to be as captivated as we are by Kiley’s fiction!’
Kiley said of the deal: ‘On the day back in August when Hera’s launch was announced I just knew they were the publisher for me. I immediately sent the manuscript of my debut novel to Keshini. I literally couldn’t sleep, I was so nervous waiting to hear if she liked it. I was overjoyed when Keshini and Lindsey invited me to be one of their first authors. It’s so exciting to be in at the start and I can’t wait to watch Hera Books grow and to find a readership of my own.
I’ve always been unashamedly romantic and a fan of love stories of all kinds. I’m delighted to be able to share my romantic novels with readers.’
