Excited for Bridgerton Season Three? Here are four books you’ll love!
June 20, 2023
Dearest Reader,
As fans of the hit regency set series were offered a first glimpse at what the next season holds for the Bridgerton family and surrounding characters alike, it’s clear the demand for new and exciting romance stories is still high.
However, with a release date currently unconfirmed at the time of writing - and speculation stating we won’t see Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton’s brooding romance blossom until late 2023 - there is still some time to fill.
We have created the perfect selection of Bridgerton-esque books to delve into while you patiently wait:
- A Season for Love By Ally Sinclair - out in ebook and paperback
If you can’t wait until the next season, we have a different kind of season ready for you. Meet Emma Love, head of a modern dating agency with a fresh take: to host a Jane Austen-style Regency Season of glamourous events where potential lovers can actually take the time to get to know each other in person, with no apps in between.
As she matches couples in an old-fashioned, classic Bridgerton way, the irritating Mr Knight is constantly crossing her path. With his casual attitude, gentle cynicism, and devastating good looks…But why is she allowing him to ruffle her calm, ordered life and why can’t she stop thinking about him?
She has no intention of becoming romantically involved herself, of course; she is far too sensible to take a chance on love – isn’t she?
- Call Me, Maybe by Stephie Chapman - out in ebook and paperback
Penelope and Colin have an unrequited love story; a romance that doesn’t seem like it is meant to be. The same can be said for Cassie and Jesse.
When Cassie was fifteen, all she wanted was to marry Jesse Franklin, the bassist from her favourite band. Now she’s single, in her late twenties and wondering what happened to that teenage dream.
A chance encounter on Facebook soon leads to a transatlantic hook up, and Jesse and Cassie begin a long-distance love affair.
Cassie is on cloud nine – until she hears something that makes her think that Jesse might not be all that he seems. They say never meet your heroes – but what happens when you fall in love with them…?
- A Convenient Marriage by Jeevani Charika - out in ebook and paperback
Marriage holds huge weight and determines your status in the regency era. But as we know, a love match was rare to find.
The same goes for Chaya and Gimhana. Chaya turns away the love of her life, Noah, worried about her traditional Sri Lankan parent’s disapproval. Meanwhile, Gimhana is hiding his sexuality from his family and feels immense pressure to settle down with a woman.
When Chaya and Gimhana meet, they decide a convenient marriage will help them both. But as they fall in love outside their marriage, will they choose true love in the end…?
- The Christmas Season by Ally Sinclair - coming this August, pre-order now
Coming just in time for the next season, Emma Love is entering a new season of her own.
After creating a regency style way of finding love via her modern dating agency, taking inspiration from Jane Austen and Bridgerton, she decides to invite singletons to a set of very special festive events: where they might find Mr Darcy under the mistletoe.
How will she fare trying to find perfect matches for the Price twins, both too busy trying to outdo the other to ever look for love? Can she encourage the sexy Season rake, Theo, to change his ways? And what of Hope Lucas, who Emma has failed to match before, but who still has faith that Mr Right is out there?
And with Emma so focused on finding everybody else’s happy ever after, is she at risk of letting her own perfect match slip away?
