Hera acquires two stunning Dickens-inspired historical novels from bestselling author Barbara Copperthwaite, writing as Barbara Havelocke

Hera are delighted to announce that they have signed best-selling author Barbara Copperthwaite in a two-book deal, writing Gothic historical novels under the name Barbara Havelocke. The first book, Estella’s Expectations, is a dazzlingly imagined origins story of the famously cold-hearted Estella, reared from childhood in a house of darkness by Miss Havisham, one of the most iconic literary figures of all time.

Estella’s Expectations will be published in hardback and ebook in Spring 2024, with the second book following in 2025.

Barbara Copperthwaite is an international best-selling author whose books have topped the Amazon and Kobo charts. World rights including translation and audio were agreed directly with the author.
