Hera acquires three delicious, darkly comic thrillers by Carrie Hughes

Commissioning editor, Jennie Ayres, has secured UK and Commonwealth rights (excluding Canadian, audio and translation rights) to The Woman from Book Club and two further books by Carrie Hughes. Rights were acquired from Jade Kavanagh at Darley Anderson. The Woman from Book Club will be published in simultaneous ebook and Paperback Original in November 2025, with book two to follow in Spring 2026 and book three in late 2026.

The Woman from Book Club is the twisty, irresistible story of a group of women who seem to have everything – until a suspicious death sends them reeling. When perfect wife Emma gets arrested for the murder of her husband at a bookclub, their gilded world explodes. Nothing is as it seems in this dark, funny, smart thriller where the twists unfold at breakneck pace.
